Sustainights (EN)

Does climate news make you angry and worried? Do you sometimes feel alone and powerless? Do you want to learn more or do you want to get started yourself ? Do you want to improve the world, your campus, or yourself? Then we think you'll find your thing during the sustainights at the Green Hub. With info and discussion moments, workshops and various cool sustainability actions where we as students can take the lead and make a difference during the academic year.

Making Tomorrow: the Relaunch

We start each semester with Making Tomorrow. An event where a mass of students come together in the Green Hub to unite around sustainability actions and projects we want to work around in the coming months.

When

Tuesday, 21/2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Program

  • 18h: snack and drink
  • 18h30: Introduction and pitch of the projects we want to work around in the coming year
  • 19h30: Join theme tables:
    • Foodsavers@GreenHub: Will we succeed in collecting surplus food in Ghent with student volunteers together with Foodsavers and make a distribution point of the Green Hub?
    • More Green!!! We want to make (the quality) of the greenery on our campuses more known, look for new possibilities for softening and greening, and help dorm students convince their dorm bosses to place (or have placed) facade gardens.
    • Social sustainability? We're working on that too! We are working on projects to make a safer and accessible place for everyone of Ghent University.
    • Climate activism: Sometimes we are disappointed... Things are moving too slowly and necessary decisions keep getting postponed. How can shout louder?
    • Volunteering: Would you like to get to know us better and give a hand from time to time? But no idea yet what or how? At this table we'll show you around.
    • Chill corner: Just have a chat. We provide wool and knitting needles.
  • 20h30: Green Hub café
